   Welcome friend,
This is a non-commercial website. The California slideshow photographic images presented here are done for our family and friends, for folk who might never be able to visit here, for those who might be planning a trip here, and for some, to bring back memories of a time well spent here. We do the slideshows because they are fun and they please us.

   For the Photographic Inclined ::
The seven smaller rotating images at the top of this page were taken by Patty with a Widelux F8 panoramic film camera. Shown are photographs of Fort Point, Mount Tamalpais State Park, and the Golden Gate Bridge. However, most of the regular slideshow photographs were taken by us with Lumix DMC-FZ5, DMC-FZ7, and DMC-FZ20 digital cameras. Most photographs are taken with natural light and are handheld. Patty used a tripod for her nighttime Angel Island fire photos. Our intent is to show our website visitors what photos can be taken with digital cameras with only minimal effort. Only in a few instances were we required to obtain special permission for entry to closed areas, like Battery Cavallo in Fort Baker. Currently, only Muir Woods National Monument and Samuel P. Taylor State Park have entrance fees. Parking at Muir Woods is limited and parking at Samuel P. Taylor can be crowded. Some campgrounds may have fees and reservations may be required. Many of our photographs were taken within a hundred feet of our automobile. The Golden Gate National Recreation Area (aka Golden Gate National Parks) and its many partners, have made these wonderful open spaces very accessible to the public, and a godsend for the parking lot photographers.

   For the Athletic Inclined ::
There is a vast trail system through Marin County's park and open space lands. Some of the trails were once historic old dirt roads that have not been converted to paved streets. Other trails can be only slightly improved game trails to well maintained fire access roads. Hikers, joggers, and mountain bikers will find ample opportunity to work off maximum calories.

   About Copyright ::
All of our images are copyrighted under federal copyright law, even though our images do not display the © symbol. The small size of our images in our slideshows makes them just about unprintable in any media publication, however we do have the original images in larger high resolution files. We favor nonprofit organizations so if there is a need for permission to use one of our images, small or large, please contact us for permission.
Any photographs made by other folk will carry their copyright. You will need to contact them for permission to use their work.
